Fred forgot to enjoy his breakfast today,
He forgot to enjoy his bed,
He forgot to enjoy his hot cup of coffee,
And the hot water rinsing his head.
Fred forgot to enjoy the sun in his face,
He forgot to enjoy the breeze,
He forgot to enjoy how his body works,
And moves him around with ease.
Fred forgot to enjoy the clouds and the rain,
The grass and the trees everywhere,
He forgot to enjoy the freedoms he had,
He even forgot to enjoy the air.
Fred forgot to enjoy the people he loved,
He forgot to enjoy his wife,
He forgot to enjoy each day on this earth,
Looks like Fred forgot to enjoy his life.
So don’t be like Fred… enjoy what you’ve got,
Enjoy it all… because I bet it’s a lot.
Just try it today… this is your shot,
Because Fred is now dead… but you, my friend, are not.
